A $500 store Jackson runs, with Claude Code doing the heavy lifting.
Fidget toys and fingerboards, sold online in Australia, dropshipped so there is no stock to hold. Andrew backs it with a $500 loan and the grown-up paperwork. Jackson owns the brand, the content and the customers.

1. The deal
$500interest-free loan from Andrew
$350of it earmarked for ads
50%of monthly profit repays the loan
100%to Jackson once repaid
Terms in plain words
Andrew lends $500. No interest. It is spent only on the items in the budget below, nothing else without a chat first.
Each month, half of the net profit goes back to Andrew until the $500 is repaid. The other half is Jackson's, or gets reinvested in ads. His call once the first $500 is back.
If the store loses the money, the loan is forgiven. That is the point of backing him now, while the downside is small.
Andrew can pause ad spend if the numbers in section 8 are not hit after the 30-day test. No hard feelings, we learn and go again.
Jackson sends a one-page numbers update every Sunday. Claude writes it, Jackson reads it and owns it.
2. Structure: who holds what
Jackson is under 16, so the legal bits sit with Andrew and the work sits with Jackson. Shopify, Meta and ASIC all require the account holder to be 18 or over, and a business name can only be held by an adult.

Note
ABN
Andrew, sole trader (or an existing Sczepo entity if that is cleaner for tax)
Free at abr.gov.au. Then register "Fidget Fix" as a business name under it at ASIC, $44 for 1 year.
Domain
Andrew's ABN
fidgetfix.com.au and fidgetfix.au both had no nameservers on 15 Sep, so likely free. Grab both. .com and .store are taken.
Shopify store
Andrew's account, Jackson as a staff login
Shopify Payments pays out to Andrew's nominated account.
Bank account
A separate everyday account in Andrew's name, used only for Fidget Fix
Keeps the books clean. Jackson's share gets transferred to his own youth account.
Meta Business Manager, ad account, Facebook page, Instagram
Andrew's Business Manager, new ad account and new page
Jackson gets Page and Ads roles from his own Facebook profile. Never run it from the Fininity ad account.
TikTok
Jackson's account (13+ is fine for organic)
No TikTok ads for now, they need 18+. Organic is where fidget content lives anyway.
Tax
Andrew's return
Small numbers. Every receipt into the OneDrive folder. Well under the GST threshold, so no GST registration.
3. Brand kit
Same design system as Fininity, shifted to purple. Barlow Semi Condensed for headings, Barlow for body, white ground, one bright accent, a three-stripe wave to close every page.
#3B1D6EPlum · headings, logo ring
#6D3FC4Violet deep · subheads, hover
#8B5CF6Violet · buttons, links, dots
#F3EEFCTint · panels
#E2DAF2Line · borders
#1E1238Ink · body text
#F2B01EGold · stars, sale tags only
Logo
The mark is a spinner: a plum ring with three violet dots and a centre. The wordmark is FIDGET in plum, FIX in violet. This page's header is the working version. Jackson refines it in Canva or has Claude iterate the SVG. Export SVG, transparent PNG, and a square icon for socials.
Voice
Short, playful, honest. "Click it. Flip it. Chill." Not corporate, not shouty.
Sell the feeling, not the specs. Satisfying, quiet, keeps your hands busy in class or at your desk.
Real videos of real hands. No stock footage, no AI renders of products we do not sell.
4. Starting range: 10 products
Pick quiet, satisfying, hard-to-break items that film well. Source from a supplier with an Australian warehouse first (Dropshipzone) so delivery is 3 to 7 days, and fall back to CJdropshipping or Zendrop for anything they do not carry. Slow shipping is the number one reason small dropship stores get bad reviews.

Do not sell these in Australia: small high-powered magnet sets (Buckyballs, Speks-style magnet balls) are permanently banned by the ACCC. Anything with a button battery must meet the mandatory battery-safety standard, so skip light-up fidgets for now. Avoid anything marketed to under-3s. Fingerboards and fidgets aimed at 8+ are fine.
Free shipping over $35. That pushes the average order from one $13 slug to a $25 to $55 bundle, which is what makes the ads pay.
5. Store build
Shopify trial ($1 a month for the first 3 months on the current promo, then Basic at roughly $56 a month). Store currency AUD, ship to Australia only to start.
Theme: Dawn (free). Jackson and Claude style colours, fonts and sections to the brand kit. No paid theme.
One supplier app only (Dropshipzone or Zendrop). Import the 10 products, rewrite every title and description in the brand voice, replace the supplier's stock photos with our own wherever we have them.
Order one sample each of the hero products (#1, #2, #3, #6) to Jackson's house. About $60. These are the content: real hands, real desk, real ramp.
Pages: Home, Shop, Bundles, About (Jackson's story, first name only, no school, no suburb), Shipping and Returns, Contact, Privacy, Terms. Claude drafts, Andrew reads the legal ones.
Shopify Payments plus PayPal. Afterpay later if orders justify it.
Connect the Meta pixel and Conversions API through the Shopify Facebook and Instagram app before the first ad runs, or the ads learn nothing.
Shopify Email for abandoned-cart and post-purchase review requests. Free up to 10,000 emails a month.
Test order end to end with a real card before launch. Refund it.

7. Marketing
Free engine: TikTok + Instagram Reels
One short video a day, 7 to 15 seconds, filmed on a phone. Hands, product, satisfying sound. That is the whole format.
Claude writes a 30-day content calendar with hooks and captions. Jackson films in batches on the weekend and posts daily.
Formats that work in this niche: "rating fidgets out of 10", "which one would you pick", "the quietest fidget for class", fingerboard trick attempts, unboxing the new drop.
Link in bio to the store. Every comment gets a reply the same day.
Paid test: $350 on Meta
Week 1: nothing paid. Build the pixel, post 7 organic videos, see which two hold attention longest.
Weeks 2 to 4: one campaign, Sales objective, Advantage+ audience, Australia. Three ads: the two best organic videos plus one bundle carousel. $12 a day.
Kill any ad under 1% click-through once it has spent $30. Move the budget to the winner.
Week 4: retarget video viewers and cart abandoners with the free-shipping bundle.
Ads run from a new ad account inside Andrew's Business Manager, never the Fininity one. Different pixel, different page, different card. Fininity's compliance footer does not apply here, but the never-publish-the-home-address rule does: the store's contact address is the PO Box.
8. The numbers that decide it
$30target average order
~55%gross margin after product and shipping
$16gross profit per order
< $15cost per purchase to break even on ads
At $350 spend and $15 per purchase that is about 23 paid orders in the test month, roughly $700 revenue, and the ad money comes back as gross profit. Organic orders on top are the upside. Month 1 is a learning month, not a profit month.
After 30 days
What it means
What we do
Cost per purchase under $15, or any organic video over 10k views
It works
Reinvest all profit into ads, add 5 products, apply for Afterpay
Cost per purchase $15 to $30
Close. Creative or offer problem
New videos, test a cheaper lead product, hold spend at $12 a day one more month
Cost per purchase over $30 and organic flat
Wrong products or wrong angle
Pause ads, keep organic going, re-pick the range. The store costs almost nothing to keep alive.

10. How Jackson works with Claude Code
Claude is not a helper he asks questions. It is the operator he directs. A CLAUDE.md in his project folder tells it the brand, the rules and the numbers, so every session starts already knowing the business. That file is in this folder as Fidget-Fix-CLAUDE.md. Copy it into his project folder as CLAUDE.md.
Claude does
Product research and supplier comparison
Every product title, description and page
Theme CSS and Liquid tweaks via the Shopify CLI
30-day content calendar, hooks, captions, hashtags
Ad copy, three variants per product
Weekly numbers report from a Shopify CSV export
Customer-service reply drafts
Jackson does
Decides what to sell and how it should feel
Films and posts, every day
Approves every piece of copy before it goes live
Presses send on every customer message
Reads the numbers and makes the call
Asks Andrew before spending anything not in the budget
House rules carried over from Andrew's setup: Claude drafts, a human sends. Nothing customer-facing goes out unread. Files land in the OneDrive project folder, not in chat. Questions to Jackson come as a popup, not buried in text. Ask the one question that matters, then get on with it.
